10,000 Maniacs' "The Wishing Chair" L.P. will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year
(original release date - September 23, 1985). Since it seems apparent that the Maniacs
are not being given the remaster / bonus tracks / box set treatment that they so richly
deserve, I've decided to upload all of my 70+ live and rare 10,000 Maniacs recordings
during the coming weeks. Although many of these recordings will be re-seeds of previous
Dime torrents, a substantial number have never appeared on the Dime (and many others
haven't been shared since the Dime's previous incarnation as "easytree.org" circa 2005).

Enjoy!

Sorry if you feel old after reading this - it certainly makes me feel old - but 10,000 Maniacs

Flaws: d1t14 was cut into 2 parts (due to a tape flip) - the parts have been merged
together (using WavMerge), but you'll be able to hear where the splice was made...sorry!

Comments: this was taped from up in the balcony (the 'cheap seats') of Massey Hall
(which, for the record, are very unkind to anyone who's tall, large, etc...they seem
to have been designed for children!) Looking down onto the floor, we could see folks
sitting in what appeared to be La-Z-Boy chairs...of course they weren't that fancy,
but compared to the wooden schoolroom chairs we were in, they looked like First Class!
Due to the distance we were from the stage, the recording is a bit boomy, but all the
instruments (and Natalie's singing) can be heard clearly...some of her infrequent
talking to the audience is a bit difficult to understand, partly from the room ambience,
but mostly from her unusual 'accent'... Wait until you hear The Jamestown Horns come
blasting into the room on disc 2!

as always, enjoy! - Zeb
