10,000 Maniacs' "The Wishing Chair" L.P. will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year
(original release date - September 23, 1985). Since it seems apparent that the Maniacs
are not being given the remaster / bonus tracks / box set treatment that they so richly
deserve, I've decided to upload all of my 70+ live and rare 10,000 Maniacs recordings
during the coming weeks. Although many of these recordings will be re-seeds of previous
Dime torrents, a substantial number have never appeared on the Dime (and many others
haven't been shared since the Dime's previous incarnation as "easytree.org" circa 2005).

Enjoy!

Notes:

I was at this show, which turned out to be the second-to-last *headlining* show with Natalie in the band (the band's final
performance with Natalie was a true anticlimax - it was a non-headlining set at a radio station festival in NYC on July 28).
Unfortunately my copy of this recording is incomplete - if you have a complete version, would you be willing to upload it?

Although I had seen the band play many shows leading up to the release of "Our Time In Eden", and I greatly enjoyed all of them,
this was the only time I saw them play a proper concert following the album's release. To be honest, I have very mixed feelings
about this show. I had never seen the band play such a greatest-hits oriented main set, and the encores seemed very focused
on Natalie performing old soul and R&B songs with the horn section at the expense of her typical interaction with the actual
10,000 Maniacs band members. I remember leaving the concert convinced that a Natalie solo album was on the way - when her
departure from the band was announced a few months later, I was sad but not surprised.

Despite my complaints (which you should feel free to ignore), the guest appearance by John Lombardo on "Tension" and Natalie's
guitar performance during "With the Emphasis on C" (an unreleased instrumental) seemed like vintage 10,000 Maniacs.
