AUD:
Beyerdynamic MC930 -> PS-2 -> R-09HR (24/96)
Transfer Info: Audacity (Tracking, Normalize, Dither)
Location: DFC, mics at 7’, 25' from stage
Taper: seremetcc (HUGE thanks!)

SBD:
Midas-32 > R09-HR
Taper: ZaPenguin

BOTH:
> Audacity (slight trims to preserve synchronicity) > Reaper (EQ + compression - no matter where a man stands on the loudness wars, the drums on the SBD were way hot and needed a bit of taming!) > CDWAV (tracks split and saved as .FLAC level 8 ) > foobar2000 (ReplayGain + tags)

Soundman: "The" Rob, of Ottobar and Mopar Mountain Daredevils fame.

SOUND QUALITY: A+/A - A really good soundboard paired with a really solid audience recording, honestly few complaints here! Please note - Cotton (I suspect) was using a lot of white noise on her synth, and portions of Pink Lady sound really... uncouth.

THE BAND:
Kawabata Makoto : guitar, synthesizer, speed guru
Higashi Hiroshi : synthesizer, noodle king
Jyonson Tsu : vocal, guitar, bouzouki, electronics, midnight whistler
Satoshima Nani : drums, another dimension
S/T : bass, space & time

SPECIAL GUEST:
Cotton Casino : Synth, exotic ducking and dancing

NO LONGER WITH THE BAND BUT WE WON'T FORGET THEM:
Shimura Koji : drums, latino cool
Tsuyama Atsushi : monster bass, voice, cosmic joker
Tabata Mitasuru : guitar, guitar-synthesizer, maratab

03. Sycamore Trees [18:28]
04. Kawabata's Silver Reflections [1:33]
05. The Flying Teapot [11:53]
06. Pink Lady Lemonade [12:15]

09. Unknown Song #1 [4:42]
10. Unknown Song #2 [5:20]
11. Cometary Orbital Drive > Speed Guru [9:49]

Notes:
Track 04 is a guitar solo, of the mellow, acapella nature that this particular taper is so very fond of referring to as "Kawabata's Pink Reflections". Naturally, as this precedes Flying Teapot, rather than Pink Lady, the reflections are not pink, but, rather, silver (the teapot has been polished since the 2017 Grey Reflections!).
Track 06 begins with a drum solo - perhaps Satoshima is developing Reflections of his own...?
Track 07 may be considered a solo section within Pink Lady Lemonade.
Tracks 09-10 may be two songs, one song with two movements, a jam and a song, or a jam with the second movement being exceptionally focused. Track 10 seems similar to Douchebag, a song last performed (as far as I know) in 2008, but here without vocals.

MINI BIO:
"Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. (and subsequent offshoots) is a Japanese psychedelic band founded in 1995 by members of the Acid Mothers Temple soul-collective. The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with 4 core members and frequent vocal guests.

The band have a reputation for phenomenal live shows, and releasing frequent albums on a number of international record labels, as well as the Acid Mothers Temple family record label which was established in 1998 to document the activities of the whole collective."

SHOW NOTES:
Another year, another Acid Mothers Temple US tour!

Without delaying this upload any further than it already has (a rotating cycle of computer issues and tedious time commitments to blame for that!), I'll just briefly say "thank you" to the Acid Mothers for putting on an incredible show (despite the half-full venue), "thank you" to Cotton for showing up and treating us to a fresh take on the year's setlist, a huge, HUGE "thank you" to Mr. seremetcc, who went way above and beyond the call of taping duty, and a "thank you" to the morning shift parking garage attendant who let me exit the garage without paying the overnight fee. I would like to question the wisdom of closing a parking garage at midnight in the first place, but common sense and sober thought do make clear the economic impracticality of an overnight worker.

Unfortunately, the night's events as well as some slight car issues precluded a visit to Richmond - it is this taper's earnest hope that 2019 will bring a chance to make up for this dearth of Acid Mothers Mid-Atlantic recordings

REQUESTS & REMINDERS:
Do not sell this recording. Do not buy this recording. Do not sell this recording, then buy it from yourself. When the clock strikes 11:45, try to sneak a space in the no-parking parking lot.
