‘The dynamic 20 piece African Jazz Allstars, directed by South African
trumpeter and composer Claude Deppa, returns following their unforgettable
sell out concert last year. The orchestra fuses passionate jazz solos with
township beat of Dudu Pukwana, Afrobeat of Fela Kuti, makossa grooves of Manu Dibango,
township jazz of Hugh Masekela, mbalax grooves of Youssour Ndour and soukous sound of
Papa Wemba to create the most original big band sound to emerge from Africa.
The 13 piece horn section featuring high class soloists from the African Diaspora
is driven by the ferocious rhythms of three master percussionists’
