notes:
-Al returns to Tucson about 16 months after last visit with a new band and line-up from last year and a very different show. Last year mainly acoustic,
this year mainly electric old stuff that I thought he swore off a few years ago. Amazing how on top of it he still is even after the health issues in
Austria last year. I thought I may never see him again after that! My favorite musician from my city of birth, Jersey City, NJ! As usual, Gumby and Phillipe
are in the band and are so tight with him and Elias blew me away too. Just an incredible show from one of the greatest most talented guitarists of any genre.
He'd run circles around most of our favorite rock guitarists!
-I recognized most of the tunes from his albums of the 70's but don't feel like getting them out to get all the titles down, so if anyone wants to take
a shot at them, go for it!
-security has gotten so tight at venues I could not get the battery pack in and thus no external mics this time. The TASCAM internals did a good job
however - very happy with results ("A-"imo). I was about 25 rows back left center deck about shoulder high sitting down.
-I've seen Al likely a dozen or more times (a few seeded here over the years) and he never fails to amaze - support him! go see him before you lose your
chance!
