Roughly eight months ago I saw this band for free in a record store. I
bought tickets for this show when they went on sale and they sold out
in a couple of hours.
They're from about 40 miles east of Muscle Shoals, Ala., and were
admittedly influenced by old school Muscle Shoals soul and rhythm and
blues.
This was the first show they've played in front of a "home crowd
in some time.
They were accompanied on four songs by Danley Murner on trumpet and
Jeremy Woods on trombone.
They played most of the tracks of their debut album, "Boys & Girls," a
few new songs and a blistering cover of "How Many More Times" with
a cool jam with several teases.
Definitely check out the Alabama Shakes on tour.
