Allen Toussaint
Nov. 18, 1990
Capitol Theatre
Charleston, W.V.
(Mountain Stage)

From the archives:
Mr. Toussaint graces the Mt. Stage for the 1st time. This capped a great weekend for us,
as we went to Bob Dylan in Columbus on Friday night, Los Lobos in Cincinnati on Saturday
night, then home for this show on Sunday afternoon. I remember falling asleep between
Toussaint's 2 sets.

["What Do You Want The Girl To Do?" is on "The Best Of Mountain Stage Live, Vol. 4" and
"Mother-In-Law / Lipstick Traces" is on "Louisiana Live From Mountain Stage", so those
tracks are removed from this torrent, per Dime rules.]

On a personal note, very sad to hear of Mr. Toussaint's passing this day. I was privileged to see him
several times after this show and he was always great. Got to meet him and shake his hand in front of
the Snug Harbor shows this past spring during Jazz Fest. A true musical genius and an (at least)
equally nice human being. RIP, Allen.

Sound is excellent. Sample below. Enjoy the music!
