I was fortunate enough to catch Ann performing on July 4th 10 minutes from my home
in Dublin, Ohio this past summer. Sadly, she performed a truncated set which barely
lasted 70 minutes. She cut many of the songs she was performing on her summer tour.
So, when she announced this final leg of dates (and that she was coming back to Ohio)
it was hard to pass up! Especially when the show was not selling very well and the
tickets were slashed to $35 with all fees! Sometimes it pays to wait! I had nobody
in my row (which was the 10th row) directly in front of the right hanging PA stack.
The rows in front of me and behind me were full, but there were rows that were just
empty - weird! The Goodyear Theater's capacity is just over 1400 and it couldn't
have been more than 50% full. Perhaps playing nearby Northfield earlier this summer
had something to do with that. I dont know. But, we got an extremely intimate show
(with some crowd/stage banter), as well. I think at this point we all know Heart is
returning to the stage in December and will most likely tour in 2024, so Im glad I
made the trek to Akron to record some of these solo songs as they may not be played
live again for awhile. We'll have to see. God bless Ann Wilson! Turn this up!
