1990-11-07 :: Salisbury, Wiltshire, England :: Salisbury Arts Centre :: M-FM
St Edmund's Church building on Bedwin Street
01. ===Martin Carthy intro/applause/Anne song intro===
02. Martinmas Time
03. ===applause/Martin Carthy outro/applause===
Total Time ::: 6:45
::: EXC FM quality. Check sample for clarity.
::: Warts: None really. TOO DAMN SHORT.
::: Solo accapella before live AUD. Based on intro/outro, possibly 1 song is all she performed on this date.
::: Unknown who else was on the bill that eve, tho' presumably Martin Carthy was among them. Do you know?
::: Anne reappeared in 1990 after about a 25 year absence for a short tour, but apparently freaked out midway thru & cancelled the rest of the shows.
::: Can ANYONE supply other tapes Ann from this reunion tour or other unissued material, regardless of quality?
Recording Information ::: BBC2-FM stereo broadcast -> unknown recording equipment -> reel-to-reel(?) master tape -> Sony TCD3 DAT recorder -> Maxell 120 DAT 32KHz/16-bit speed.
Playback 2019-01-xx ::: DAT -> optical cable -> Tascam 900SL CD recorder -> CD-RW -> EAC -> wavs -> computer -> Audacity [channel/phase alignment, fades, volume adjustments, NO equalisation or noise reduction] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. First uploaded 2019-02-xx.
Line-up ::: Anne Briggs - vocals.
Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.
DimeTravel 490 ::: Thanks to the original taper & trader! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Imagine you've waited for 25 years to see Anne & she comes out for one number or even worse, you bought tickets for one of the cancelled shows. This song is fine & will fit in nicely with your 1963 Edinburgh Folk Festival LP trax or even better with your "Acoustic Routes" comeback trax, but it's primarily a prompt to beg those of you with some unheard recordings to pass them along while we're still here to enjoy them. Most of our children don't/won't care. What a voice. Maybe we'll hear more than the 3 albums worth someday. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yrs truly, Knees
