show notes:

this was an interesting set-up, as the normally GA Egan Center was turned into a "cocktail lounge with long tables and 1200 chairs" (2800 capacity), the stage was put along the 'long wall' (vs. the end), and a promoter brought April Wine to Alaska for a 2 show/one night party.

sadly, both shows are incomplete, but you can just about make a complete show between the two of them!

I believe the early show is abbreviated due to keys getting locked in the car pre-show by the then-friend who drove us down...which makes no sense, as if that were the case, then the *beginning* would be missing, not the end.

the keys did get locked in the car during the early show, and that delay prevented us from getting to the late show on time, so if the beginning is missing from that one, then that makes more sense. maybe the end of the late show is incomplete due to dead batteries?

other random memories involve:

---cute girls from high school there

---my buddy Kevin grabbing 5 unknown pills from a buddy of his, eating them all, then passing out, forehead-on-table less than 30 minutes into the late show.

---Frank and Christy flying down from Fairbanks with a Sega Genesis so we could play NHL '92 in their hotel room (we drove home after the show, thank you almost-Midnight Sun!)

---plowing into a porcupine on the narrow Glenn Highway detour we took ("new" Glenn was closed going north), and noticing 50+ quills in the right front tire when stopping at Burger King in Wasilla 20 minutes later for a quick breakfast on a beautiful sunny morning

---oh yeah, April Wine (the Canadian Aerosmith? hahaha) played 2 pretty fucking solid sets.

it's almost April, and he don't whine. his name is dandrew, and he's gone all Matrix with this shit.

throw him some thanks, as I'll probably be winding this down in the next 2 weeks or so until falltime, as there's shows in April and May to tape, and then and Alaskan summer to enjoy!!!

I'll be fucking off in the interim....

MORE.

COME.
