If you compare the opener "I Can't Turn You Loose" with the QUEEN OF SOUL LIVE IN DETROIT video [https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2fltdb ], you can tell right away that these are different recordings.
(Based on a description found here [https://www.nytimes.com/1986/07/13/arts/cable-tv-notes-a-special-show-from-aretha-franklin.html ], it's also not the soundtrack of the "Aretha!" Showtime special that made its TV debut in July of 1968.)
The track list also doesn't match any version of the 1988 official video release THE QUEEN OF SOUL.

All commercials have been removed, that's why there are fade out's & fade in's. Some of the long audience applause segments may have been artificially created, I suspect.

I had no idea this existed until it appeared on another tracker. It's an imperfect transfer from an imperfect vinyl copy and I have tried to minimize most of the sonic defects. So, for the time being until an upgrade comes along this is as good it gets.
Once again, I felt tempted to funk it up more, retain the integrity of Aretha's sublime voice and emphasize the good parts. I hope you like the result.

This is a great show, with her going way old school back to her very first album in 1961, mixing up tempos, stopping at her 1981 collaboration with George Benson AND singing his part too, bringing on Clarence Clemons to perform one of her newest hits and even covering Heart, before bringing it all back home again by ending up back on her very first album. There's really something here for everyone.

I love how Aretha is in total control here, which is most apparent in "freeway ...". Clarence wants to recreate the album version and starts on his sax motif but she jumps right into her first line and isn't having it. You just wish this was way longer.
