This show was a surprise to me. I didn't know Arthur was out of the slammer much less performing again. This might be one of the very first post-prison shows. My buddy and I went down to the Knitting Factory in Hollywood and found it sold out. But, it is Hollywood, so we begged and hung out near the door and minutes before Arthur took the stage we were able to slip the bouncer a couple of $20's and we were in!
There he was! The man himself! Clean and sober and on fire! I remember my buddy MC Ferret and myself not being able to come down. An incredible experience. We had seen him in the late 80's (and I did tape that one). It was a sloppy terrible show. But now things had changed and I was stunned. I've heard many shows from the subsequent tour and none compare to this one. You be the judge.
