kingrue notes:
This was originally posted with the date as July 9, 1989. But thats not correct.
Because The Blues Brothers were playing at the Hammersmith Odeon on that day.
The RB (Radio Bremen) moderator announces this concert as B.B. King Hammersmith Odeon London 1989, opening for U2.
But thats not correct either.
The tour of U2 and B.B. King started in September 1989 and went through the first week of January 1990 culminating in 53 dates together with BB King as the opener. There were No London dates on that tour.
So its odd that the radio announcer would refer to BB King opening for U2 at this Hammersmith Odeon show. That didn't happen.
The only other Hammersmith Odeon performance in 1989 was March 9 and 10. Six months before the U2 tour.
B.B. King did not play the Hammersmith Odeon in 1990.
so with all the information I have, if this is truly the Hammersmith Odeon performance then it must be from one of the March 1989 performances, But theres no way to be 100% certain.
All I can tell you that it is not July 9, 1989. And hes not opening for U2 here.
