comments:
This is a complete recording of a very fine band- Boston meets
New York, basically. Somewhat different lineups of this band played
often in Boston and I thought they were one of the best bands from
this area at the time. Sounds like an allstar line up of northeastern
American jazz fusion, the recording came out well. this is the original
master tape, CD extracted to reduce a few loud claps, first time I've ever
seeded this thing. Tull fans take note, I've seen Tull several times with
Doane Perry, not absolutely certain, but pretty sure this is the same fellow!
(no, they don't play anything by JT in this show, it's all very fusey).
Stan Strickland is of the band "sundance", Mark Harvey has played in the
group "Aardvark", David Moss is a great percussionist somewhat similar in
style to Morris Pert at times (of Brand X, and comparably good). All these
are different songs, it was a free outdoor show, I lived just about a mile
away so I had to see this group (again!). This was the 3rd time I've seen them
at this same hallowed ground. Nice music every time. If you haven't heard
Baird Hersey and Year of the Ear, this is the year to change that. Baird
himself is from New York and manages to surround himself with solid musical
accompanyment in this group. All my BH recordings came out well, this may
be the best recording quality of them all, and one of the better shows too.
They're all very nice music.
Do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.
