This was my 12th time seeing Beck but first proper headlining show since he played the Fillmore in San Francisco in '06 (strangely, a recording of that show just recently appeared on Dime in the last few days). This was a lot of fun. I started noticing in '05 that his mood and energy at shows dropped quite a bit, but old Beck is very much back. Huge energy and he seemed to be having a bunch of fun. He played some songs I didn't expect, including the Rod Stewart cover with Jenny Lewis that's been getting a lot of attention.
