Tapers Notes: In late 1976, Blue Weaver and Robin Barry, and Maurice Gibb sat down for about 10
minutes and banged out a rough demo copy of "How Deep is Your Love." Most of the words are missing,
but the melody for the most part is unmistakable.


Weaver who went on to play keyboards for Yes and Mott the Hoople was responsible for most of the
chord changes for this track, and deserved writing credit for the song, but alas that was not to be.

At the 8:03 mark, Weaver discovers the chord changes that make the song's melody as we know it.

The Bee Gees went on to re-record the song at Criteria Studios in Miami, and the song went to
number one for 17 consecutive weeks in 1977. The rest, they say, is history.
