Tapers Notes:

Orchestra accompaniment of rock groups is certainly not new, and is certainly in
fashion at the Hollywood Bowl. At least in my judgment, it didn't work here.

On the one hand you have a roots band, whose music is, at the core, blues, reggae,
gospel, funk and rock. Ben Harper is best enjoyed live. Overlay this with a 60 piece
orchestra, with strings, brass, and a harp, and you've got an interesting, but not
necessarily workable show.

In the local newspapers, it was reported that conductor Thomas Wilkins was so concerned,
the group and the orchestra had several rehearsals. Much of the regular set was tossed,
for slower, ballad type songs, which made the marriage of strings and Ben Harper a little
easier.

I'm not a fan, so help me out with the set list.

The true thanks go not to me, but to the taping community behind whose footsteps
I have followed, including those who have perfected the art of stealth recordings,
the makers of the stealthy mikes, cords, adapters, and preamps, and those who
have graciously shared their recording techniques.

I am merely a mike stand with a credit card and driver's license.

As always, I don't care what you do with these files, once you download
them--they are yours now, except these files are not for sale, free
trade only. You can thank me by uploading something of a similar genre
or trading with me, so I can.
