1) ELEGYMART ARCHIVES, VOL. 20

This time we're dropping in on the Bevis Frond, who were winding down a five-week tour of thirty gigs. This was their penultimate date on the tour, following Belgium and prior to Copenhagen.

For the past six years or so, the Copenhagen show has circulated as a soundboard and has been misidentified as Odense.

Time to set these recordings straight...

This is an actual recording of the Odense gig. For simple fact-checking, listen to Mick Donovan's introduction on both shows as he announces the town the band is playing.

The recording here is not as clear as the Copenhagen show, but the setlist has some scorchers dropped in the final night that makes this one the stronger set, namely "Mediaeval Sienese Acid Blues" and the segue out of "Down Me Down" into the beat/garage rock "Down Time" -- a track recorded by Fred Bison Five (a Nick Saloman nom de plume). This night also doesn't catch Nick cracking up from Adrian's shenanigans in "On a Liquid Wheel" during the acoustic interlude -- it's a nice interruption-free rendition.

Enjoy,
