Bevis Frond & Magic Muscle - 1989-09-03 Brixton Academy, London, UK
This was the debut appearance of Nick ‘Bevis Frond’ Saloman with his friends from Magic Muscle, who would continue to play live as The Bevis Frond for the next couple of years.
This appearance was as part of the ‘Hawkwind 20th Anniversary Bash’ (Magic Muscle had been the support band on Hawkwind’s famous Space Ritual tour in the early 70s, and bassist Ade Shaw had joined Hawkwind after the departure of Paul Rudolph as their bassist). This gig was, in fact, played under the Magic Muscle name, but henceforth the newly invigorated Nick, with a taste for playing live, toured with the same line up as Bevis Frond (or, occasionally, Magic Bevis Muscle Frond).

03 do me down
04 waiting for midnight
05 100 miles below
06 something wierd
NB Track 06 is tacked onto the end of the tape, and is clearly intentional - it appears to contain a few seconds extra from the show along with a bit of (stoned?) lunacy. I have included it here for the sake of completeness and historical accuracy.
