Recording notes: No major issues to report. Sitting in a theatre to record is easy if the folks around you are quiet.
I did fade in the music playing when the band took the stage after the intermission as my bud was chatting with me when it started and I figured it would be best to cut that out as much as possible. If you don't care for the intermission music you could always just eliminate that track and start off the next set immediately with Diggin' a Hole.
Show notes:
It's been a few years that I've been saying "I really have to catch Big Sugar in concert again." And a couple of days before this show I saw a few tickets still available so I grabbed one.
I'm not sure if it was fate but at that same time another fellow bought the ticket next to me and it turned out to be the brother of a pal I went to college with! Small world.
Big Sugar was playing their Five Hundred Pounds album on this tour. I am really loving these 'play an album plus a bunch of hits' concerts that I stumbled upon in the past month. It's a long setlist but it's really great to see hear tunes you might not have heard in a long time.
I'm not sure what I can say about Big Sugar other than it's always a great show with some great tunes and a great storyteller in the form of Gordie Johnson. Two thumbs up and I hope to catch them again soon.
