Tapers Notes:
Introducing the first gig of The Bill Champlin Band. Bill moved back
down to LA this year from Nashville and started rehearsing with a new
band.
This one is in front of an appreciative sold out crowd at a suburban
club in the San Fernando Valley. The crowd kept quiet, so this is a
near perfect audience tape. One track was cut, while I got a glass of
water.
You might also want to check out Nick DeRiso's Interview with Bill last
month at Something Else.Com, which reasons which I do not fully know, it
was hurriedly taken down.
I suspect it was because the interview was not terribly flattering to
his former Chicago colleagues. but disclosed what we all knew, which was
that Bill Champlin was the creative force of Chicago in the 80-90's, the other
Chicago members were jealous, and did not appreciate his solo efforts, so
he was abruptly given the boot.
If you have difficulty obtaining the interview from cache's of the web pages,
PM me.
