Nice day, but wife is sick. I'll eat her ticket. There are maybe 10 seats downstairs near the bar, rest is SRO.
One must be mine, my leg is killing me. I arrive early, small line out front. After a few minutes, a
dj comes out. "Are you guys the winners of the soundcheck contest?" WTF? I nod, too. It was some sort of
phone in thing and they didn't take names, so I go in with around 8 other people. Free pizza, free drinks; we watch the soundcheck.
I'm a happy mofo. Then Ian Mac (RIP) signs my Mermaid Ave. slick, Billy comes over and as he signs,
he asks what's new. I told him about the SEPTA strike, knowling that would push his buttons--
it did (Disc 2, track 1). Fun show, the last big Billy band show I saw.
