Taper's notes:
Humphrey's is a "No Recording Allowed" venue, and I did not get word from the venue or from boa whether the band's open taping policy superceded the venue's. In addition, I scored a great seat, and even if it was open taping, I didn't want to set up by the soundboard, especially in an outdoor venue. So I tried my hand at stealthing. It would have turned out OK, except for the drunk lady next to me, singing throughout most of the show, and interjecting strategic "Woo!'s" during the instrumental parts. So I dedicate this recording to her, and if she ever hears this tape, I hope she enjoys her crappy duets with Chris, complete with offkey singing, missed cues and wrong lyrics.
Honestly, I don't know what possesses a person to sing along during a show, especially with a top notch singer like Chris Robinson.
Seriously though, I hope this tides everyone over until the LBC is released.
In terms of EQ'ing, the recording came out with a bit too much low-end than I liked. I tried to make it sound to my taste with my preferred setup (iMod > Headamp Pico > UE Triple.fi's), but tried to make it sound OK for very different sounding headphones as well (Grado SR-80, Yuin OK-1). I hope it turned out OK.
