BLACK MOUNTAIN
(Handstamp No. 11)
Dunes
Portland, Oregon
February 13, 2005
Twelve tracks. Sorry, no song titles this time out...
(total time: 78.45)
General Notes:
Dunes is a tiny little club in NE Portland that books obscure and underpublicized shows. In fact, they at one point asked the local music rag to stop listing them. They also are a regular hangout for various tweekers, dealers and lowlifes, as will become obvious on this recording.
Great to see Black Mountain blow the roof off the place. That fuzz you hear is not a malfunction of your or my equipment, it is merely the sound made when a loud-ass band plays in a venue the size of a broom closet.
Recording Notes:
Recorded to Sharp Minidisc (ATRAC compressed), then dubbed to wav via a 16-bit M-Audio 2496 soundcard and Soundforge.
Art Notes:
Ive enclosed some simple artwork, in the popular cheapskate black and white format, in a pdf file. If printed without scaling, this should be approximately the right size to form a book front such as might be used in a plastic slim cd case. To get really crazy, print on colored paper!
