Another one from my vault of lo-fi masterpieces, here is the mighty Black Uhuru in their glory days, recorded from the front row of the old Ritz on 11th Street in New York City. This was the early show. This recording has never been circulated before.
Behold, among other delights, the sweet vocals of the late Puma Jones and powerful groove provided by the unequalled riddim twins, Sly and Robbie.
If you are interested in seeing what this band looked like, they appeared on German TV four days after this show on the Rockpalast program. Video of that gig occasionally pops up on torrent sites.
