NOTES:
The "Manchester Academy" name has become a brand. The venue was the largest of the University of Manchester Students' Union's four concert venues with the Academy name. Academy 1 is an almost square space with a low ceiling and the sound is generally very good. It opened in October 1990 and after major refurbishment in 2008 & 2013 has a capacity of 2,600. The hall was sold out.
