This is a festival-audience-recording !
So, there is -of course- the classical, inevitable audience chatter during the whole concert,
but being the first band on stage that day, there were not so many people around, and still too tired to give some "heavy chatter", I think, so it's all quiet in the background.
The sound of this recording is good, but far from perfect.
I did not really care about BLUE CHEER (still don't), but it wasn't raining (rare moment that year) and I was curious about these "relics", only knowing their "Summertime-Blues"-version.
So I stayed quiet far away from the stage, but recorded it (nothing else to do).
so the recording suffered of these 3 (minor) flaws :
1. recording position too far from stage = sound became a little distant and "swimming" with every move or even the (soft) wind (not only in pan but also the heights). First 4 minutes are a little muffeled. As I said : I did not really care about a GOOD recording back then)
2. recording level was much too low = I had to amplify a lot, especially the high frequencies, and I got hiss I had to noise-reduct (sic: from a DIGITAL recording !!! - but the "swimming" was also there BEFORE noise-reduction)
3. I had to edit some minor MD-recording dropouts, but I don't think you will recognize them.
I also edit out quiet a few seconds of "silence" (or better: nothing but unnecessary background chatter) and had to do some EQ-work (the On-stage-sound itself was not very good during this concert) to get a balanced sound spectrum.
cover-artwork is added, but is not in best quality, cause I had to make a screencopy from another program (no way to convert)
Support the artists!
Buy their official releases, merchandises, and especially their concert-tickets !
And if you want to support them most effectivly :
Buy their stuff at concerts directly FROM the artists or via their homepages !!!
Keep it lossless (if possible - This is no holy grail, but it would be nice to keep the quality for all future listeners!)
Trade freely!
DO NOT SELL !
