The 1984 tour has always been something I've enjoyed in bits and pieces, but lately I've really been
focusing just on the acoustic sets from the tour and I find them much stronger than the electric parts,
which have the tendency to turn into boring stadium rock with weaker vocals than the more tender acoustic
tracks. Real Live is not much help either, as I find the Tangled Up In Blue on that to be far inferior to the
performances earlier in the tour where his voice was more subtle and nuanced before it eventually became
a shouting caricature of itself. The true gem though is this lovely performance of To Ramona with a
wonderful vocal. Worth the price of admission for that alone! It's a shame that, other than Tangled Up In
Blue, he didn't perform any post-1965 songs acoustically. I would have liked to hear him try out some
Infidels material with just an acoustic guitar. Nevertheless, here are my favorite renditions of all 12 acoustic
songs from the tour. Enjoy!

P.S. I just wanted to also point out the fun guitar work Bob does before Don't Think Twice. It's like a
prototype of Stu's yummy noodle we've all devoured over the last few years. This is more of a ziti to Stu's
manicotti.

Thanks for downloading!
