55 Bar, NYC

Pete McCann - guitar
Jamie Saft - keyboards
Sebastian Steinberg - bass
Peter Basil - percussion
Bobby Previte - drums
The Voodoo Orchestra, as it was called briefly in 2002, played the electric music of Miles Davis. One of the best bar-bands I have ever heard. Every town should have one of these.
Source: CSB (Roll Off Filter ON) > M1 (Line In)
Transfer: Master Tape > D8 > SE-U55 (Analog) > Sound Studio (edits, tracking) > xACT (SBE Align, Flac Level5) > You
According to my notes on the DAT, this is my first tape with my shiny used M1. What is odd is that this is a 60M tape and it clearly says: Set 1 @ 48kHz SP, Set 2 @ 32kHz LP. Played it back and sure enough, that's what it is. I didn't even know you could get 32kHz out of one of these Sony decks, and I'm sure that was a mistake on my part! But I played each one back to the Hard Drive and recorded at 44.1kHz with the levels set just right and these are really great sets. There were a few errors, and I caught most of them, but some are still present. Still, time to toss out the old transfers.
Disc One 65:51
Set 1
bpvo_2002-04-11_i_01 04:49
bpvo_2002-04-11_i_02 11:46
bpvo_2002-04-11_i_03 14:32

bpvo_2002-04-11_i_05 22:06
bpvo_2002-04-11_i_06 00:53
No Set List, but there are Miles-like grooves a-plenty. Track 1 starts a little late into the piece, but not before the main theme is stated; the last Track is applause. Chatty Crowd, as usual for the 55.
Disc Two 61:36
Set 2
bpvo_2002-04-11_ii_1 01:57
bpvo_2002-04-11_ii_2 26:37
bpvo_2002-04-11_ii_3 25:33
bpvo_2002-04-11_ii_4 05:24
bpvo_2002-04-11_ii_5 02:02
No Set List. The first Track is the crowd, the 4th is actually an encore and the last Track is applause and the 8 people left in the room begging for more.
