::: Pretty damn crisp FM regardless of generation. Check samples for download justification or to confirm some minutes of upcoming aural joy.
::: This is NOT the same as Hilversum, NL VPRO FM Studios 1976-04-13.
::: Warts: Not many to speak of. Some volume fluctuation & touch of P.A. hum at times.
::: My tape was labeled only 1976. April is a guess due to her Hilversum appearance & could be wrong!
::: Well... one always hopes not to end with egg on one's face. As far as I know this doesn't duplicate anything else. Bit odd it hasn't been here before that I can see. Bonnie says goodnight in attempted Dutch or German after the 1st or 2nd song, but it seems like highlights pulled from the show anyway, so... Anyway, hope it is of interest. As for the egg if it happens, reckon it's just a matter of time anyway & it's almost Easter...

CoolSonics 132 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: I've had some excellent musical fortune in my life & seeing Bonnie Raitt & Little Feat at the Atlanta Fox Theatre in May 1975 was one of the top 10 highlights. Maybe someday we'll get really lucky & the final encore will surface. My recollection is a 20-30 minute acoustic set with Feat & Raitt band members with J.D. Souther & maybe someone else on stage. In any case, my next Bonnie gig was some months after this Amsterdam one, in northern Vermont. While she was still way cool, it seemed like the intensity of the Fox Theatre gig (acknowledged by both Bonnie & Feat members to have been an historic event) was not really there. Subsequent Bonnie gigs showed she had really changed her priorities. In the mid-70s, she seemed most interested in proving her guitar prowess & blues caché, rather than focusing on her vocals. No surprise considering who her heroes & sometimes stagemates were. But in many respects, a real shame, as I feel her slide guitar playing was a thing to be reckoned with. And I did like Freebo a lot. OK, times change & vocals seemed to take the front seat. I always liked this recording very much & have waited for years for someone to upload a perfect copy, but since it hasn't happened, here's mine, which ain't too bad. Killer setlist, though obviously VPRO just pulled some highlights from the show. God bless 'em, they must have the whole gig in their archives. How 'bout it guys? Maybe this will motivate some lucky soul to transfer his or her master, or even a 1st gen. In the meantime, enjoy! And Bonnie, don't get me wrong, I was very happy for yer 80s fame. A well-deserved leap to the top of the heap & hope it has given you great joy. You paid yer dues. And, you know, you were never one of my idols though I love the tunes, but the way yer voice cracks in "My Opening Farewell" in this recording on the "There's a train" lyric phrase at 3:05 (track 2), should probably break the hearts of most anyone who listens, so more power to ya!
