additional info:
The show is very dynamic, no compression or other processing was done, it is very live and what I would call a full Sound!
The venue has "blanket" seating in front of the reserved bench seating, it is also picnic style. consequently you can hear the occasional paper bag ruffle, and bottle clank, and zipper zip. at the venue you may bring in beer and wine and coolers here it is by far one of the most awesome outdoor venues in Oregon.
Sound was done by George Relles sound crew, very nice meyer sound speakers and a sweet, midas mixer.
we were seated about 20' from the stage on a slight rise (about 3' higher than directly in front of the stage) in the grass dead center, there was no seated directly in front of, or blocking us. The Meyer Sound speakers hanging and on stage with smaller "fill" speakers (on top of the Sub cabinets) pointed directly at the front crowd were I (we) was (were) seated.
The MKH 8040ST's do an awesome job at picking up the subs, and lean toward bass heavy, though they are very smooth and balanced, and pick up the high end equally as detailed. we were in a position to pick up a large amount of the "stage sound" as well as the mains, as some would say it was like we were in the mouth of the beast, the sound was spectacular! - There were extra speakers along the front of the stage, not usually present at the Britt. the were small fill monitors that seems to have the guitar turned up quite high in them.
The last time Bonnie Played at the Britt, was sometime in the late 80's, apparently it was a Greenpeace benefit. At that last show there were TV crews filming the logger protesters with their chain-aws trying to disrupt the show, and eventually the local riot police were called in to keep the chainsaws at bay. We heard this story while waiting in line, you'll hear Bonnie mention that after the first song that "it's a lot nicer with out all of the chainsaws".
