Note:
I want to thank Bootsy Collins for letting me record and enjoy this great show. I had decided to record direct at the security fence, for maximum damping of the big venue (capacity betweenn 6.500 and 7.000 people jam packed) and the partying crowd, with a distance of about 3 meters to the giant fill (from both channels) up stack (mixed with Martin and Turbosound PA speakers) between the 2 stages of the Statenhall. There was this nice woman left beside me, who started phoning with heir cell phone, soon after the show started. Not long after that, all this P Funk VIP in the security range right in front of the band, started to look over all the time. Some time later a security guy appeared on the other side of the fence, waiting for a comand to stop me. During "I'd rather Be With You" Bootsy dropped me a line, but I didn't capture that in that moment, I was flying away from this beautifull ballad. I just thought, shit on it, they get me, or they do not...
During his excurse into the crowd during "Touch somebody", Bootsy came along, stopped, looked at me for a while, and yelled "you're allright!", but this is not audible on the tape, because the mic was at my hip, and it was very loud, as you can imagine. At the end of the show, Gary James came along to hug his girlfriend, or whatever, the nice woman left beside me.
Bootsy just was releasing a double CD in this days, he had recorded in Tokyo, on June 24 & 25th 1995, so he was a little nervous about my recording. Since yet, no collector has gotten this recording. So if anybody of you P funkatiers here on dime has acces to him, please forward my thank to him.
