Boston - Mega-rare restored vinyl "We Found It In The Trashcan, Honest!" Tom Scholz' Home Demos Summer 1975 - play it LOUD! (mp3 sample included)
From the definitive version of this material, these early tracks rock the house. I've tried to bring out as much of the music as humanly possible without resorting to EQ or NR. Even the CD versions circulating originate from this vinyl pressing. You will notice a marked improvement in the sound quality. Too bad it's only 20 minutes long!
From the album cover:
During the summer of 1975 Tom Scholz recorded the songs on this album. They were all recorded at his 24-track "home built" basement studio. These same tracks were later used as audition tapes for the group BOSTON. When Tom Scholz and his band later signed with their current label, all of the songs were re-recorded for their first album. The differences between these demo versions and the final takes are sometimes subtle and sometimes obvious. For example, several of the songs have now been re-titled, with verses added and dropped. One song has never been released at all! The value of these recordings to the collector is obvious, and we take great pride in presenting them.
