comment by an earlier seeder:
This is more from the sortakinda Brand X archives, but it is the whole show, one of the 1st
shows at the Middle East which became a major concert spot in Cambridge in very late 92
(this was from the 1st week of concerts there). I think my copy of this was done Naka- to
Naka and it is a nice recording, not alot of people there (even though I think this was
the 1st Boston-area Brand X show since 1978! I suspect since the Middle East was new at this
time, many people didn't know how to get there). They only played 1 set, and even though the
taper had to tell the soundman only half the sound system was on for the beginning of the show,
it still sounds like the whole band and it is a stereo recording throughout. Boston area never
gets normal Brand X shows. (never played there in 76 or 77) Only oddball shows. Dime downloaders
have already discovered this oddity of Brand X in concert. Always something sortakindamaybe Brand X.
that's something some folks like, others might prefer to call this a Goodsall/ Jones trio.
this one is slightly longer than usual for this time and it sounds pretty good. Unfortunately
the same cannot be said for the Middle East downstairs room with cement walls lining either side.
But I still find this an enjoyable, sortakindamaybe Brand X show to listen to. It actually sounds
like Brand X, sortakindamaybe... Let me know how you feel about it. This show hasn't seen much
circulation at all and even with the recent flurry of Brand X uploads on dime (myself and others
involved too) I haven't seen this one, or any from 92 in awhile so here you go. there are a few
corrections here. I still like the "church of hype" title alot better, but that's not the actual title.
I should have known that, since lack of hype probably killed this band's career (far too soon).
