This is the 14th and last of my CTTE 2019 recordings (unless I recover the deleted Brand X show I mentioned earlier). On previous cruises, I would normally return with 20+ recordings. This year I made a conscious decision to skip some bands that I had recorded in years past that don't really interest me anymore. Another factor was the cruise went by really fast due to the shortened first day. By the time we settled in, the cruise was half over and then, in what felt like the blink of an eye, we were on our way home.
As luck would have it, this is one of the best performances and recordings of the entire cruise. I don't think Brand X was originally scheduled to do a third show so this was a great opportunity for me to redeem myself. If you're wondering how another guitarist could replace John Goodsall on short notice, rest assured that Alex Machacek was superb in what mere mortals would find an impossible role.
Some quick acknowledgements for my friends who assisted along the way - HS, MH, JW, MS, GV, and to all of those I shared this experience with. Special thanks to ethiessen1 for all of the artwork he has created for this project.
While it was sad that CTTE had ended so quickly, the adventure wasn't quite over yet. We got off the ship and drove from Tampa to Miami for a quick overnight, then hopped on The Mariner of the Seas the next morning for the On The Blue Cruise! Stay tuned...
