"Interesting back story on this. I'd been hanging with Branford the entire week he was in town for the Wichita Jazz Festival. We first met when he was playing with Art Blakey. On the night of this show, my wife and I were going to have dinner with Branford and the band, then go to the gig. At the last moment, my wife decides not to go. Seems she wasn't feeling good and just wanted to go to bed. After making sure she was taken care of, I split. Later, in the wee wee hours the next day when I arrived home, I was in for a big surprise. Put the key in the door and walked on in. Wait a minute, something was different. Thought I was in the wrong apartment. The place was cleaned out, I mean damn near empty of everything!!! Here's what happened. As soon as my tail lights disappeared in the distance, a big rental truck backed up to my apartment. My wife, the boyfriend she'd been seeing and some of his pals looted the place then took off. All that talk about not feeling well was a scam. Now, I don't miss my wife. Not at all. What I have is this very cool recording that's now being shared with you. Doesn't get much better than that. Enjoy the show."
