The Brian Jonestown Massacre 2010-06-06 Webster Hall New York, NY USA An acidjack master recording Equipment: Audix 1280c>Church Audio Active Cables>PCM-M10 (24/44.1) Position: ~25 ft from right stack, A-B, mics at 6'4", stealth Mastering: 24bit/44.1kHz WAV>Audacity (tracking, set fades, light EQ (raise frequencies below 100Hz by ~1dB), downsample to 16bit)>FLAC (level 8) The BJM continue to be one of my very favorite live acts. I love their backstory, I love their unpredictability, and most of all, I love their colossal sound, referencing both the "baggy" style of early 90s Britpop as well as 60s psychedelia. This performance proved to be a huge one, with the band playing for nearly two and a half hours, with the show culminating in a 20-minute feedback jam. A personal highlight for me was the fact that this was the first of the several times I've seen them when they playing "Going To Hell." These guys are a can't-miss anytime they are on tour. I recorded this set with the Audix micro capsules with the Church Audio "active" solution. The recording has a nice, clear upfront sound. A few "woo woos" here and there between songs but nothing to worry about. Sample included.
