I had no idea Brian was planning on announcing more shows for this tour, so I
ended up driving to Detroit in September 2016 to record and see Brian for (what
I thought) would be the final time. Less than a month after that show, he
announced 2017 dates including one here in Columbus 15 minutes from my door.
I pulled up the onsale and they wanted $125+ fees for a floor ticket and the
same for loge, lower balcony. I made the decision to buy a ticket in the upper
balcony (4 rows from the back wall) for $32+ fees instead and was going to
leave the gear at home. I was very happy with my Detroit recording. The night
before the show, I went on Ticketmaster to see what singles may have been
available in possible taping locations. I saw a few empty in the front row of
LOGE A (almost $100 more than my ticket). I took the seat numbers down just
in case. I got to the show fairly early and watched the seats. No one showed.
With two minutes til showtime, I walked down and took the seat closest
in line with the right stack in LOGE A. I also ended up w/ empty seats to my
left & right - incredible. I lucked out with this one! No usher stopped me,
either! The sound was decent (not perfect by any means), but as good as you
can get from the first row of the balcony. Just imagine if I had taped from
BALC D, Row R - HA!

The setlist was pretty identical to Detroit last fall with about 3 or 4 songs
changed out. "Feel Flows" was really cool to hear.
