Notes:
This is for the guy(s) over at the Cockburn project, who do such a great job of documenting and preserving Bruce's legacy. I transferred this a long time ago and forgot about it. This show doesn't appear to circulate, so it deserves to be heard. So for all you Cockburn fans, here it is!
In general, it sounds a bit rough to me -- highs are a bit harsh, plus there's some general sonic weirdness that's hard to describe. You can hear some hiss in the quiet passages. It's got a bit too much ambience, some chatter and excessive audience noise. Bruce's chatter between songs is sometimes hard to make out. There's some distortion in the first track -- I don't know if it's sound-system related or if the master was slightly oversaturated (probably the latter). Recording was stopped between some songs, and there are a couple of awkward tape flips, but I don't think much was lost (in some cases I made crossfades to minimize the abrupt jump cuts, etc., but in other cases I just left it alone). You can hear some hiss in the quiet passages. Other than that, it's an awesome performance. In any case, it needs to circulate in order to fill in Bruce's historical record, so here it is. I'd give it a B-.
