Bruce Cockburn
Stealing Fire Live
Over the last few years, it has become the rage for artists to perform their albums live. Well, if Bruce chose an album this is what I would like it to sound like. Open with a guitar/piano duet of "Lovers," a solo acoustic "Poet," a sultry "Sahara Gold" and a "Contact" that makes you wanna get up and dance. We slow down with a "Peggy's Kitchen" that includes a rare 4th verse and then get lost in a bluesy, dark "Morning Star." A tranquil "Nicaragua" provides counterpoint to an angry "Rocket Launcher" that concludes with a ferocious guitar solo. "Dust and Diesel" closes the album out with melancholy and a smile.

A word about compilations: I compiled these performances for my personal enjoyment, and share them for the same reason. There are many Bruce Cockburn compilations available out there; the one must-have being the officially released "Waiting for a Miracle." Nothing beats the original tracks themselves.
I urge you to seek out the original performances contained herein (theyre all available somewhere). Thank you so much to the original tapers, uploaders and all who share this great music. And, of course, thanks, Bruce.
Enjoy,
