This collection serves to add to the "Ultimate Hornsby torrent" which I first compiled in 2009. I revised it in 2015, and now present an additional 25 tracks to bring it up to 2021.

I claim no credit for any of the tapings, bar one. These recordings have been donated to me or harvested from the very generous taping communities online.

I'm releasing this as two different versions: the full 135 track collection, and this smaller versions of 25 songs as an addendum to the original. It makes 13 CDs altogether, or 2 in this torrent.

I hope you enjoy this special collection, created mainly of songs from Bruce's three studio records from 2016 to 2020: Absolute Zero, Rehab Reunion and Non-Secure Connection.

This is Bruce's latest incarnation of Rainbow's Cadillac - a "Leon Russell" version incorporating Quinn the Eskimo.

116. July 16 2016

Sioux Falls, SD

Every Little Kiss
Bruce took a request for this at the Wolf Trap, having not played it in years. Dulcimer in hand, he reinvented it on the spot.

Tucson, AZ

Might As Well Be Me

This was co-written with the grate Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter.

118. November 19 2016

Tucson, AZ

Where's the Bat?

Unreleased on a stdio record, this was a song from the SCKBSTD musical that Bruce worked on in the late 2000s.

119. April 9 2017

Charleston, SC

Tropical Cashmere Sweater

As noted on the recording, this is another song co-written with Robert Hunter, from the Rehab Reunion release.

120. June 16 2017

Black Mountain, NC

Brown-Eyed Women

This Grateful Dead cover was to "practice" for an all-Jerry Garcia set that Bruce and the Noisemakers were to play the following month. First time performed live.

121. June 16 2017

With Lake Street Dive's Rachael Price.

CD Thirteen

123. November 29 2018

Wickenburg, AZ

Meds

A solo version of this song from the 2019 record, Absolute Zero.

124. November 29 2018

Wickenburg, AZ

Soon Enough

Tis song was written for the piano, crossed over to the dulcimer for the Rehab Reunion record, and then back onto the piano for this solo show.

125. April 29 2019

Brooklyn, NY

Cast-Off

This is one of those songs that you just know is going to make a monster live extended jam once you've heard the studio record. You'd be right!

126. April 20 2019

Brooklyn, NY

Voyager One

Performed with chamber ensemble yMusic, this was the popular first single from Absolute Zero, featuring J.V. Collier on bass synth.

127. May 3 2019

Los Angeles, CA

Over the Rise

The original with Justin Vernon opened the Absolute Zero record. A popular request since at concerts since that release in 2016.

128. June 29 2019

Asheville, NC

Fractals

Gibb Droll backs Bruce up on vocals as well as guitar on the Absolute Zero track.

129. August 13 2019

Lawrence, KS

Never in This House

Another from the SCKBSTD musical and Absolute Zero.

130. July 17 2020

Grand Rapids, MI

Funhouse

A standout version of this song; Bruce donated it for download in our last fundraiser in 2018.

131. June 14 2021

Westport, CT

Echolocation

The studio version of this song has a lot of fun and wacky sound effects and the band are clearly having fun replicating them here. This was one of several songs which evolved from a cue written for a Spike Lee movie... something about it reminds me a lot of Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul)

132. June 14 2021

Westport, CT

My Resolve

From Bruce's 2020 lockdown release Non-Secure Connection, the original was recorded with the Shins' James Mercer, without the pair ever having met. John Mailander is on fiddle here.

133. June 16 2021

Lafayette, NY

Cleopatra Drones

This song opened Non-Secure Connection with an extended single string note, resembling the opening to the prior record, Absolute Zero.

134. June 16 2021

Lafayette, NY

The Rat King

An excellent recording of this crowd favourite from Non-Secure Connection. Gibb Droll on guitar.

135. June 16 2021

Lafayette, NY

Absolute Zero

Extended intro to the title track of Bruce's 2019 dulcimer record.
