Volume Two of JEMS' Darkness Tour Masters Revisited series is this special show from the Motor City, notable for its stunning, first-ever cover version of Bob Dylan's "Chimes of Freedom" (sung with the help of a lyric sheet) and a rare solo piano version of "Lost in the Flood," the last time Bruce played the song until the end of the 1999-2000 reunion tour. I believe this is the only recording of the solo "Flood" that survives from the tour.
For the fresh 2010 transfer, every minute JEMS recorded is available in best-ever quality. This 24/96 capture from the original master cassettes was then passed to Flynn for his mastering touch which, though light, makes a difference. The show is being presented both in CD-friendly 16/44.1 and, if there is enough demand, high-res 24/96 versions.
If good intentions hold, the rest of JEMS' Darkness tour masters will be released in new transfers leading up to the release of the official box set in mid November 2010.
