Transfer: Low Generation early 1980's tape trade > Nakamichi CR5A (Azimuth Adjusted) > MacBook Pro > Audacity 1.3.11 > Peak Pro XT 5.2 (indexing/volume smoothing/very slight eq (around 800hz-1Khz vocal range) > xACT 1.71 > FLAC

This is a fresh transfer from my tape copy of the opening night of The River tour. I started trading tapes in 1981-1982 and this was one of the first shows I traded to get. I'm not sure of the exact generation but sounds low which I assume it is considering it was one of the first shows I acquired.

It is much better quality than I remembered it being and that I apparently originally rated it on my trade list though back in the old trade days I was pretty strict with my ratings. The transfer came out excellent after some azimuth adjusting. Quality is slightly lower during the first 3-4 songs as the taper and crowd get settled and becomes excellent by the time Darkness On The Edge Of Town kicks in.

I know there are a couple of version circulating and I don't claim this to be better or worse than any of those, the transfer came out very nice so I thought I'd share a low generation version for those that still need it.

11 songs from The River with 9 of them premiered here and of course Thunder Road with Seger.
Lots of shows get one listen and then filed away, this one will go into the rotation for awhile. A must have show for both quality and performance.
