It was 97 degrees in Boston and Buddy complains about the stage lights are too hot.
This tape almost didn't happen. Doc Fried recalls: I was in the bathroom getting my equipment together and 2 guys saw the cables hanging down under the stall door. When I came out with my backpack, I was quickly surrounded by both uniformed and undercover police and security.
Officer: Can I have the bag please?
Me: No, I was just leaving.
Officer: Your not going anywhere till we see what's in the bag.
Me: It's none of your business what's in the bag, why what do you think is in the bag?
Officer: someone saw you in the bathroom and said they saw wires and you may have a bomb in there.
Me: There's no bomb in the bag. If I let you see what's in the bag will you let me stay?
Officer: Depends what it is. I'll be the judge.
Me: Ok here you go, it's recording equipment. How about you take the tapes and batteries and show me to my seat?
Officer : Looks in the bag, says ok that's a deal, but we'll be watching you all night.
Me: Ok....
Rama and my ex wife, who watched the whole fiasco, meet me at the seats. Rama takes the mics and cables into his bag which had his d5 with tapes and batteries and goes about 5 rows back and finds someone we know, and explains and trades seats and tapes the show.
Enjoy!
