Total Time ::: 24:35

::: Non hi-fi but magical & illuminating none-the-less. Check samples for self awareness assessment or momentary transcendence.
::: WARTS: A little choppy & has tiny speed glitches a couple of times, but overall acclimate to the altitude & you will fly. Surely missed some dropouts & tape garble (or couldn't repair them). #4 has a late, rough start with some tape chew & speed issues for a few seconds but it's MUCH smoother than it was. #8 has cut in it near the end.
::: CONTRAST CLAUSE: This is remaster of http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=411702
::: Line-up was The Byrds, Electric Flag & B.B. King (lights by Holy See). Thurs 1967-12-07 Fillmore Auditorium, Friday 8th & Saturday 9th Winterland.
::: Probably the early SET (not show) of the evening & probably set 1 (of 6?) of all the bands, tho' not sure why the tape was flipped or changed already after 5&1/2 minutes.
::: Still would love an EQ'd copy by someone who knows what they are doing. I tried, but it created new, audible issues.
::: Thanks to DIMERS Thegrape1, barndoggs, myshadow & dclubok for weighing in with further information on the first go round.

Recording Information ::: unknown mono recording equipment -> master audience mono reel-to-reel tape -> unknown generations of tape -> unknown generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette, Dolby B off.

Playback 2011-12-30 ::: unknown generation Maxell XLII-90 cassette on Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck, Dolby off, azimuth & pitch adjusted, heads cleaned & demagnatized -> Tascam CD-RW900SL pro CD recorder -> CD-RW -> computer, EAC secure -> wavs -> Audacity (fades &/or glitches, dropouts, volume adjustments, no equalisation) -> CD Wave (track splits) -> Trader's Little Helper -> yer ears. Original Mk1 version uploaded 2011-06-30.

Further remastering 2014-12-xx ::: flacs -> Audacity (glitches, dropouts, clap reduction, volume adjustments, Trax 1&2 averaged -0.65 pitch correction, then at tapeflip or tape change from #3 until the end averaged -1.35 - both single pass per segment after frequency analysis & with pitchpipe verification, no equalisation). More offset adjustments - checked & fixed every 30 seconds. Many more glitches patched & fixed MANY volume variations including several hundred to match up the channels better (it's from a mono tape & you could hear 'em!). Also fixed a lot of the tape chew/jitter issues in the first 2 minutes. Most claps were reduced a LOT, one by one.

Line-up ::: Roger McGuinn - electric guitar, vocals // Chris Hillman - electric bass, vocals // Michael Clarke - drums.

Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.

DimeTravel 093 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: Original notes: This one is for B.Tobin, who has been a PRINCE among men & just made his transition. Let's look at it this way. The biggest Byrds fan I have ever known & one of the finest people I have met so far on the planet, just died without hearing this recording, except for an excerpt of "Renaissance Fair" I played him over the telephone. We are FORTY-FIVE years after the show. so here it is folks. It's mono & a bit choppy, but quite listenable & both an education & source of illumination in my opinion. The transition from "Feel A Whole Lot Better" into "A Satisfied Mind" should bring some grins to the most sombre & jaded of tape collector faces. These guys were still having fun. Some rippin' jamming here. Check out the incredible guitar workout in more than 10 minutes of "My Back Pages -> Milestones -> Baby What You Want Me To Do", followed by an ecstatic rendition of "Renaissance Fair". A couple of seconds pause & the show takes off into "Eight Miles High". Not the easiest flyte you will ever take but it is a joyful & rewarding one. Remember to fasten yer seatbelts & tell the captain what unusual substances you have consumed, in case an emergency landing is called for. After all, you know what they used to say, better a little Thorazine than a straight jacket. Touch the sky & enjoy! AND some more notes 2014: Michael Clarke had left during October (session drummers were used on most of Notorious Byrd Brothers) but was re-hired for December tour dates. Probably 1967-12-22 Anaheim Convention Center was his last appearance before he split to Hawaii. Listened to this a couple of times at the start of the winter & thought I could add something to my original effort. Here it is. Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
