Memories
This legendary show exists on boots of varying length and quality. Many are incomplete. This to my knowledge (and hazy memory) this is complete. This is the only fully acoustic show by The Byrds - forced at the time because the rain during the festival made the use of electric gear too dangerous.
My memories are hazy at best. A combination of long time ago, a lot of weed then, lack of sleep, and a heavy dose of Zeppelin early during the evening. My outstanding memory of Bath was that it was aptly named - it rained. It continued raining. I don't think I have ever been so wet. I did not think it was possible to be that wet and not dissolve. I had reached the stage of 'had enough' and was ready to leave and find somewhere drier - but was persuaded to stay by a friend - a good decision. These guys earned my eternal respect for their determination to put on a show (in spite of dreadful conditions - you can hear the thunder and rain on the recording), for playing their hearts out to the audience and for the sheer musical skill and dexterity. Wonderful stuff.
The recording is rated as good to very good. It could be a lot better if someone with the skill and technical knowledge applied themselves to it (treat that as a big please and grovel).
I uploaded this about two years ago when I joined dime, and it was very popular. It has long since fallen off the tracker, so as a sort-of two year anniversary - it is reoffered for those who missed it first time.
Enjoy
