SOURCE / LINEAGE

Stereo AUD trade tape

Trade tape > Computer WAV > Cool Edit 2000 > TLH v2.4.1 > FLAC 8 > DIME > you
Big thanks to the original taper, and to the trader (jbk) who hooked me up with a copy.
I originally mastered this 2010-07-19.
The only thing I did on the computer was place track marks before each piece.
This FLAC fileset comes from WAVs from this dub, which only needed SBE corrections in TLH; no CD-Rs or EACs.

NOTES

I dunno, this has got to be one of the best sounding audience-sourced CB shows out there; fine, fine stuff.
Sounds a bit low-level-overloaded when played on computer, but ok on a real stereo.
Brief volume issues (cuts out in the beginning, goes up a bit in Blue Gene / One Red Rose & then back again), & a bit hissy, but whatyagonnado?
Up there with Petaluma '81 in my book.

The band intros are after Ashtray Heart, and are not broken out to a separate track.
There's about a second of tape transition silence after My Human and b4 the cut into Sugar, which I didn't remove.

Le Beef is unhappy that Ronald Reagan has won the election.
And he doesn't like the echo in the venue.

Lots to like here, among them a fine run thru Kandy Korn and a poem entitled Untitled (!!).

I dunno about you, but when I hear stuff this old, I am REALLY grateful that people went and recorded things like this.
And I'm glad traders kept them going around long enough so I could get a copy many years later.

Filenames have numbers on the end that are the TIMES (ex. - "...-359" is 3min59sec long).

I mark the start of tracks when the music or count-in begins, not the talking about it before it starts.
