Comments: This was my fifth trip to beautiful Infinity Hall in Norfolk, CT this year. It is really a great place to show. Acoustics are fantastic, and with less than 300 seats, there isn't a bad one in the house. The place seemed to be maybe two thirds full. I had seen Carl Palmer play live four times previously, once with ELP back in '98 and three times with Asia recently. Each time I came away thinking that the drums were way too high in the mix, and this time was no different. Of course, this is called the "Carl Palmer" band after all. I was also pretty close to the stage (but pretty much everyone is in this venue), so I'm sure some of the sound captured here was coming directly from the stage. Carl hits the drums harder than anyone else I can recall, so don't be surprised at the extrememly loud drum sound on this one. I wasn't overly impressed with the new arrangements myself, I missed the nuance of the keyboards. Though some of that might be the fact the drums were mixed so loud, it was hard to tell what the two other musicians were playing. When they were given time to shine during their solo highlights in the set, it was obvious they were extremely talented musicians. It was an interesting take on old material however, and an enjoyable evening.
