- This was a great show! I’d seen, and recorded, Carolyn Wonderland when she opened for last
year’s Avila Blues Festival, but then as an opening act she only played for 30 minutes. This
show, being almost an hour and 45 minutes, really showcased her abilities as a blues guitarist.
Usually many people dance at the Blues Society shows. No one danced at this show because people’s
eyes were glued to the stage! She played lap steel for two songs and even played trumpet on a Los
Lobos cover. I think this was one of the better SLO Blues Society shows that I have seen.
