The Cars - Live @ The Rat, Boston 1977 Aud (re-seed)

Here's a re-seed of a very early Cars show from The Rat in Boston 1977. This rare audience recording takes place in the early stages of the band (just after Cap'n Swing) and before the release of their debut lp IN 1978. This set includes some vocal variations, and one unreleased song. The original seeder (please step forward) made several sound fixes and speed adjustments to restore this historic document, and comes with Artwork. All praise goes to the original seeder & recordist. As always you're comments are welcomed!

The Cars
The Rathskellar
Boston, MA
April 1977

01) Just What I Needed
02) I'm In Touch With Your World
03) Strawberry Moonlight
04) Lover And A Holiday
05) Bye Bye Love
06) Wake Me Up
07) Cool Fool
08) Looking To See You (unreleased)
09) Don't Cha Stop
10) You're All I've Got Tonight

ORIGINAL NOTES:
Decent audience recording. My original source was VERY slow, by about 5%, so I fixed that and some gaps and other flaws and like I said it now sounds decent. I think this recording is interesting for a few reasons: The band is very young, just four months since their first live gig; Ric sings "Bye Bye Love" instead of the late Benjamin Orr, who sang a full third of The Cars catalog; the eighth song is not available anywhere else that I know of, in fact I don't even know for certain what the title is; Ben, who went on to sing "Just What I Needed" countless times with The Cars, his own band, and then Big People, starts the first verse too early in this set. At least half of these song are from their Cap'n Swing days.

August 2010 notes:
Original FLAC > Check sector boundries / encoding > Flac > trader's little helper
